Dog Day on The Bayou August 26th, 2017 (2p-6p)
Bayou Paddlesports, Bayou Boogaloo, The Bulldog Mid City and Gnarly Barley proudly host Dog Day on the Bayou! This is an event hosted by some of the most dog friendly places we know of. We have all come together to celebrate man’s best friend and the great owners who take them wherever they go.
The hosts mentioned above are currently offering the following items during the event:
• 1/2 off paddling 9a-7p
• samples of local beers and brews
• meet local pet organizations and rescue organizations
• raffle give aways through out the day
We invite businesses or organizations to set up a booth at no cost to help spread the word about what you do and how you do it. We are looking for pet support organizations and businesses to attend the Dog Day on the Bayou so you can network with the community and other organizations. The goal is to create an interactive opportunity to share ideas with like-minded individuals and businesses to help make New Orleans a responsible pet friendly city.
In exchange for accepting a free booth spot, we ask your organization provide any of the following:
• share event on across your network via social media, newsletters and other media
• raffle item giveaways and/or experiences your organization would like to offer the crowd
• any suggestions for additional contributions are welcome!
About the hosts:
Bayou Paddlesports is a pet friendly outdoor activity that any pet owner can enjoy. We have had everything from dogs, pythons, parrots and even a goat has paddled the bayou in one of our kayaks. We provide access to equipment anyone can enjoy and teach pet owners how to paddle with their pet.
Bayou Boogaloo is a pet friendly festival held each spring on Bayou St John. Local pet owners and traveling visitors frequent this free pet friendly festival every year for some of the best beer, music, dancing and art New Orleans has to offer, right on the bayou. Here in New Orleans we believe even Fido deserves to go to the fais do do.
The Bulldog Mid City is so pet friendly you can see local pooches parading around in their favorite team jersey on game day. The sports bar located at the end of the Canal St. streetcar line has a full selection of drought beer on nitrogen taps for enjoying the best of the Big Easy with man’s best friend.
Gnarly Barley Brewing got its start in a crowded garage, amongst the presence of two fat cats and a halfpipe. Their homebrewed beer debuted at the New Orleans on Tap beer festival. Gaining positive feedback through local beer festivals and finding many comrades in the local brewing community, a 10,500 square foot microbrewery in Hammond, Louisiana was born.
